is the Location?

Ranthambhore National Park is nestled between the Aravalli and Vindyachal
mountain range. It is located at the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan.

When
to Visit?
Ranthambhore
National Park is open for visitors from 1st October to 30th
June. Rest of the months the forest is close for visitors.

The
jungle safari generally starts at 7.00 am in the morning and lasts till 10.30
am during the winters, while in summers it is from 6.30 am to 10.00 am.

You
can also go for jungle safari at afternoon, which is from 2.30 pm to 6.00
during the summer and 2.00 pm to 5.30 pm during the winters.

What
to See?
Ranthambhore National
Park is known for the large popular of diurnal tigers, that is, tiers that can
be seen during the day. Besides the ferocious tigers, leopards, striped hyenas,
jackals, sloth bears palm civets, five striped squirrels and Indian flying
foxes are found moving round at ease. The biodiversity of the forest has led to
the large population of deer at Ranthambhore; from sambar, chital, black bucks
to chinkara deer, you can find almost all the species at this forest.




















Near the water body of
the forest tourists can find various kinds of reptiles, like marsh crocodiles,
desert monitor lizards, tortoise, banded kraits, flapped shelled turtles, rat
snakes, Indian chameleons, Russell and snow scaled vipers.

There are almost 272
types of avian life found at Ranthambhore National Park. Graylag geese,
cuckoos, parakeets, woodpeckers, Indian grey hornbills, bee eaters, snipes,
doves, crakes, owls, nightjars, eagles, darters and terns are just few of them.

to Reach?
Ranthambhore
National Park is a popular tourist destination and hence easily accessible from
all parts of the country and world.

By
Air:
The nearest airport to
the park is the Sanganer airport of Jaipur. The distance between Jaipur and
Ranthambhore is 180 km and you can get private taxis and bus to the park from
the airport. There are regular flights from
Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore to Jaipur.

By
Rail:
The Sawai Madhopur
railway station is the nearest railway station to Ranthambhore National Park.
The station is approximately 10 km from the park and there are regular trains
from the major Indian cities to Sawai Madhopur railway station; Delhi is at 362
km, Agra 227 km, Mumbai 1027 km and 108 km from Kota. Tourists can avail taxis
and bus to reach the park from the station.

By
Road:
By road, Delhi is at
480 km via Dausa, Jaipur is at 180 km via Tonk. Delhi to Ranthambhore is
directly connected via NH8 and NH11A. The park is also easily reachable from Ahmadabad
and Ajmer.
