In the last few years, craze for scholarship amongst meritorious students have increased a lot in India. If the figures are to be believed, then applying for a scholarship has become so easy that maximum people don’t want to lose this opportunity. The organizing body makes sure that it does not remain just a dream for many, to accumulate financial resources by some other means to either take admission in the colleges or to continue their studies. CBSE offers merit based scholarships merit cum means based scholarship, internships and competitions for Single Girl Child and Colleges and University Students.
Many students before taking admission in the respective professional courses every year look for scholarships that are being offered but the bitter fact is that the students of India are less aware about the scholarships that are being offered so they either drop the idea to continue their studies or plan to study or choose to study a degree course which are way too cheaper. CBSE offers two scholarships namely:
- Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students (CSSS)
- Single Girl Child Scholarship Schemes for Under Graduate Studies
- CBSE Merit Scholarship Schemes for Professional Studies-AIPMT and Engineering
- CBSE Merit Scholarship Schemes for Single Girl Students for Class 10 pass Students
- Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students (CSSS): The scholarship is a sort of financial assistance given to the meritorious candidates who belong to low income families to pursue their higher studies. It is being offered on the basis of Class 12 performance in Boards. Rs. 1000 per month for three years are being offered to the candidate. If it is a professional course then during the 4th and 5th year Rs. 2000 per month is given.
- Single Girl Child Scholarship Schemes for Under Graduate Studies: The scholarship is being offered to Single Girl child who belong to financially weaker Background and who are pursuing their undergraduate studies in any professional course except Engineering and MBBS. Rs. 500 per month for three years are being offered to the candidate. Annual renewal is based on the performance of the student in studies.
- CBSE Merit Scholarship Schemes for Professional Studies AIPMT and Engineering: The scholarship is being offered to the candidates who are pursuing their undergraduate studies either in Engineering or Medical Stream. Rs. 1000 per month for four years are being offered to the candidate. Annual renewal is based on the performance of the student in studies.
- CBSE Merit Scholarship Schemes for Single Girl Students for Class 10 pass Students: The main motto of CBSE merit scholarship scheme is that the meritorious Single Girl Students are provided the scholarships so that no financial obstacle arises in the path to pursue higher studies. Also the efforts of the parents in promoting education among girls and to provide encouragement to meritorious students are taken into consideration.
