Along with that it is also a story of jealousy. Here, Tom’s uncle Silas, a
farmer refuses to let a richer and more influential land-owner, Brace Dunlap.
Marrying his daughter, he was forced to take the Jubitar Dunlap, twin brother
of Jake Dunlap who is a burglar. Well, the story of a novel starts with an
imaginative and very mischievous boy Tom Sawyer, who lives with his Aunt Polly
and his half-brother Sid, in the Mississippi River town. There during the
school, Tom falls in love with Becky Thatcher, who was a new girl in town. He
sort of keeps Becky engage with him most of the time. The murder story and
mystery solving begins, when Tom accompanies Huckleberry Fin, the son of the town
drunk, to the graveyard at night to try cure for the warts. There they witness
the murder of young Dr. Robinson by the Native American “half-breed” Injun Joe.
The frightened boys, Tom and Fin swear not to say about anything or talk to
anybody about what they saw. But later on, police captures the wrong guy for
the Robinson’s murder that helps to grow the Tom’s anxiety and guilt. Hence,
this guilt and anxiety lead to the investigation and solutions of mysterious
murders after lots of ups and down in their life. During that course, Fin, Tom
and Huck get rescued from spring fever by a trip to Tom’s Uncle Silas.
