All India Pre Medical Test 2016

All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) is organized by Central Board of Secondary Education for admission into 15% seats of BDS & MBBS courses offered in all medical and dental colleges run by the Central Government, state governments, municipal or other local authorities in India. Colleges located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir will not fill their 15% seats using AIPMT 2016 but they accept its score to offer admission to their Medical & Dental colleges.



For the session 2016-17, the exam notification is already out and the exam will be conducted on May 01, 2016 while the application process will start in the third week of December 2015. This is most competitive medical examination as appear in it to realize their dream to be become successful medical professional.


In this article we will discuss some of the important details related to AIPMT 2016. Let us start with the eligibility:


Eligibility: Forcandidates to be eligible for All India Pre-Medical Test, the following eligibility conditions are to be fulfilled:


Age: The candidate needs to be at least 17 years (born before January 01, 2000) to be considered for AIPMT examination.

  • The upper age limit is 25 years with 5 year relaxation for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category.



Academic Qualification: The student making application for AIPMT 2016 should have cleared class 12 examinations with Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Bio-technology and English as one of the compulsory subject.


Minimum marks: The minimum marks required by candidates in class 12 to be eligible for AIPMT are:

  • General Candidate                           : 50%
  • SC/ST/OBC/PwD                           : 40%
  • General Candidates with Physically disability : 45%



Application Process: The application process is completely online and the candidates are required to fill the online application form, upload their photograph and signature and pay the application fee to complete the application process.


Application Fee: In orderto complete the application process, candidates from General & OBC category should pay application fee of Rs. 1200 while candidates belonging to SC/ST and Physically challenged candidates should pay Rs. 650.

  • Application fee can be paid either online using Credit/Debit Card or offline using E-Challan to deposit the amount of fee in CBSE Bank Account with Canara Bank or Syndicate Bank or E-Post Office.



AIPMT Admit Card: Theadmit card for AIPMT 2016 will be made available on the official website of AIPMT in March/April 2015 and can be downloaded by the candidates. The admit cards are to be preserved by the candidate till the admission process is over.


Exam Pattern: AIPMT 2016 will be based upon the following exam pattern:

  • Total Question: 180.
  • Language: English & Hindi.
  • Marking Scheme:Right answer: +4, Wrong answer: -1. 



Result: The result of the examination will be declared in the month of August 2016 and further admission process will be based upon the merit list prepared on the basis of AIPMT 2016 score.
